Best Gaming Laptops Under 1 Lakh
Instead of a rigid list, we will go through different categories of laptops and compare the best available options to help you make an informed decision.
So, let’s start with our first category without wasting our time.
Gaming Laptops
HP Victus 15 2023
If you are looking for a budget gaming laptop, the Victus 15 is the way to go. Since its inception just a few years ago, the Victus lineup has gained a lot of popularity among budget gamers.
HP offers the Victus 15 (2023) in two main versions. The AMD version starts at Rs. 87,000 and is the cheaper one. For that price, you get the latest Ryzen 5 7535HS CPU paired with RTX 2050 graphics. If you have a bigger budget, I recommend going with the Intel version, which brings 13th Gen Intel Core i5-13420H CPU. It is paired with RTX 3050 graphics.
Other than the CPU-GPU pairing, the HP Victus 15 (2023) has the same set of specifications. You get a 15.6-inch LCD screen with a 144Hz refresh rate to enjoy games. By default, it ships with 8GB of DDR RAM and 512GB of SSD, which you can upgrade to 32GB and 1TB, respectively.

Lenovo IdeaPad Gaming 3
When we think of gaming laptops from Lenovo, we usually think of its more premium Legion lineup, but the company also had an affordable lineup — IdeaPad Gaming 3. As expected, Lenovo cut a lot of corners to keep the budget status. This resulted in the lineup never taking off, which compelled Lenovo to rebrand it as LOQ in 2023.
As with Victus 15 discussed above, the IdeaPad Gaming 3 sports a fully plastic build. That said, the design is more closer to a traditional laptop than a gaming one, raising questions about thermal and cooling. It comes with the older 11th Gen Intel CPU. The GPU here is the RTX 3050, which is the best you can get in this price range in Nepal.
Specifications:
- Processor: Intel Core i5 – 11300H (4-core 8-thread Processor Upto 4.4GHz)

Ultrabook Laptops
Asus Zenbook 14X
Though the term Ultrabook merely means thin and light notebooks, it is actually a brainchild of Intel, which created it to distinguish premium portable laptops from the rest.
Intel, even today, provides EVO certification to laptops that satisfy its portability and technical criteria. So it is always wise to go for an Intel Evo laptop when looking for an ultrabook.
The Asus Zenbook 14X is just that. For less than one lakh Nepali rupee, it has a 13th Gen Intel Core i5-13500H processor with 12 hybrid cores and 16 threads.
One of the main selling points of this laptop is the display. It is a 10-bit OLED touchscreen with a 120Hz refresh rate. You can also use it for graphics designing and content creation as it has 100% DCI-P3 color gamut and Pantone validation.

This laptop comes with a Ryzen 5500U processor, which is quite popular in this price range. It is coupled with 8GB of DDR4 RAM and 512GB PCIe NVMe SSD. It boasts a 15.6-inch FHD with 250 nits and 45% NTSC color coverage.

Business Laptops
Lenovo Thinkbook 13S
When it comes to business laptops, it doesn’t get any better than Lenovo’s Think series. These laptops are built with productivity and security in mind. Plus, the Thinkbook 13S has the added advantage of portability. This features a 13.3-inch IPS display with Dolby Vision and a tall aspect ratio. The small protrusion above the display houses the 720p camera protected by ThinkShutter and a dual-array microphone.
Performance is not on par with other latest models as it only packs the 11th Gen Intel Core i5-1135G7, but it should not be a problem for most office works. This laptop has a backlit keyboard with a fingerprint scanner built into the power button.
Specifications:
- Processor: 11th Gen Intel Core i5-1135G7 (2.4 GHz base clock, 4.2 Ghz max boost clock, 4 Cores, 8 MB Cache)

Likewise, you get a 14″ FHD display, 1080p webcam, Wi-Fi 6E, and tons of ports to work with. On the downside, the build of the Vostro is no match to the ThinkPad discussed earlier.

Dell Inspiron 7430 is a 14-inch 2-in-1 convertible laptop. You can use it as a traditional laptop or as a tablet, depending upon your need, thanks to the 360° hinge. Powering the laptop is the Intel Core i5-1335U processor. It is paired with 8GB of RAM and 512GB SSD. That said, don’t expect it to perform as well as traditional laptops with the same CPU, as convertible laptops don’t have the same thermal space as their normal counterparts.
