This site belongs to Sanjeev Bhattarai, an SEO and growth specialist in Kathmandu, Nepal. This page explains what the site collects about you, why, how long I keep it, and what you can ask me to do with it.
What I collect and why
When you use the contact form
Your name, email address, your message, and anything else you choose to type. I use it to reply to you and, if we work together, to run that work. The form is built with Everest Forms. Each message is saved in this site’s database and sent to my email inbox.
When you join the newsletter
Your email address. I use it only to send the newsletter. The sign-up runs on MailPoet, which keeps your address in this site’s database. You confirm by email before you are added, and every newsletter has an unsubscribe link.
When you leave a comment
The name, email address and website you enter, your comment, and your IP address and browser details, which WordPress keeps to help catch spam. Your email address is never shown on the site.
When you browse the site
The site uses Google Tag Manager to load Google Analytics. Google Analytics records which pages you view, how you arrived, your device and browser, and your rough location. I use these reports to see which pages are useful and which are not. I don’t run advertising or remarketing tags.
To deliver and protect the site
The site runs through Cloudflare, which handles your IP address to deliver pages quickly and block attacks. My web host stores the site and its database.
Cookies
Google Analytics sets cookies so it can tell a new visit from a returning one. WordPress sets cookies if you log in, or if you leave a comment and tick the box to remember your details. Cloudflare may set a short-lived security cookie. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, and the site still works without them. You can also turn off Google Analytics with Google’s browser opt-out add-on.
Who else sees it
I don’t sell or rent your information. Google, Cloudflare and my web host handle it only to run the services described above. Google may process analytics data outside Nepal, including in the United States. I don’t share your details with anyone else unless the law requires it.
How long I keep it
- Contact messages: as long as I need them to answer you and to handle any work that follows. Then I delete them.
- Newsletter: until you unsubscribe.
- Comments: for as long as the comment stays on the site.
- Analytics: for the retention period set in my Google Analytics account.
What you can ask me to do
You can ask me for a copy of the information I hold about you, ask me to correct it, or ask me to delete it. You can also object to how I use it. Depending on where you live, data protection law may give you further rights. I reply to every request within a month.
